NDT is a new science and vital field that allows for the evaluation of materials, components, and systems without causing harm or disruption.
These innovative techniques are key to maintaining safety, reliability, and efficiency in industries such as aerospace, oil /gas, construction, manufacturing and energy.
NDT can be performed during / after manufacture or in service
NDT including 16 methods can generally be classified into two categories:
- Conventional methods:
- Visual Inspection VT – Dye Penetrate Inspection (PT) – Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT) – Eddy Current (ET) and Radiograph Test (RT)
- Advanced methods:
- Automated UT (AUT), Phased Array UT (PAUT) , Magnetic Flux Inspection (MFL) etc.
NDT is the process of inspecting, testing, evaluating, interpretation, decision for materials, components and Tools for discontinuities & defects without affecting in the serviceability and lifetime of the component, tools or system.
NDT help to maximize productivity, reduce disruptions and lower overall cost of owner.
